Do golf gloves come in pairs?

You may have noticed that golfers typically wear only one golf glove, whether you're on the golf course or watching golf on TV. This may raise the question: Do golf gloves come in pairs?

Typically, no, Golf Gloves do not come in pairs. The main exception to this is that winter golf gloves can come in pairs. Most golfers only play with one golf glove, primarily using it on their non-dominant hand. However, it's recommended to have multiple golf gloves to rotate between rounds or shots allowing even wear across your gloves. Some stores do offer discounts when you buy multiple gloves.

Below, we will go over the key purposes of a golf glove and some quick tips on caring for your glove.

Purpose of a golf glove

Golf gloves are a personal choice, but they are primarily used to enhance your grip and control. They do this by increasing the friction between the hand and the club. This helps to give a more secure grip on the club and can prevent it flying out of your hands during your shot. Golf gloves are also used to protect your hands by helping to prevent blisters. The golf glove acts as a protective barrier and the material of the gloves help to absorb and distribute the pressure evenly across the hands, reducing the risk of blisters.

Caring for your golf glove

Some golfers take off their golf glove at the end of a round and put it straight into their golf bag without proper care and attention. This can cause golf gloves to lose their shape, wear out quickly and become unusable for more rounds. Storage, drying and rotating gloves are vital in increasing the longevity of your golf glove.

Your glove will likely become wet during your round, either through sweat or if it's raining. Therefore, it's important to allow your golf glove to air dry properly once you have finished using it. Once your golf glove is properly dry it's then important to store it in a golf glove pouch or zip lock bag. This will help maintain the shape of the glove and prevent it from becoming crumpled.

It is also recommended to rotate your glove between rounds or even shots. If you rotate your glove between shots it will prevent your glove from becoming too sweaty which will stop the sweat breaking down the material of the golf glove. Rotating between rounds helps achieve even wear across your gloves and allows you to give your golf glove adequate time to dry and be stored correctly.
